One of the key challenges of the 80's was to boost industrial development. The country was data rich but information poor so did the industrial and business sector. A massive effort was developed to digitize all data of industrial (GOFI), commercial and investment (GAFI) registries and organizations. After a number of years data became available on Egypt production capacities of different industries.
