Dr. ElSherif is the pioneer in introducing the concepts, approaches and methodologies of decision support systems to the Arab world. He also guided and led building technical capacities for formulating and designing projects for building decision support systems (DSS) and centers for information and decision support in Egypt, Jordon, Kuwait, Oman, Syria, Tunisia, Morocco and UAE. The initiative, in each country, include: a dialogue with top decision makers usually prime-ministers, ministers and their support staff, public awareness and societal education, formulating feasibility studies, conceptual framework for projects, implementation plan, professional development, DSS model building, content and database establishing and DSS leadership coaching.
