Arab Child

Dr. ElSherif led the Arab Child Initiative 'Investment in Our Future', which was launched in 1997 by RITSEC to support the development of Egyptian and Arab Children for the next millennium. The Initiative aimed at investing in the future of every Arab child by providing them with the tools and skills needed for the twenty-first century, effectively enabling Arab children to compete in the international community in the information age. Under his leadership, a number of "Clubs" focusing on the population under the age of 15 to empower IT knowledge transfer, training and child's exposure to the global world was set throughout the Arab region and an internet site for Arab youth in each Arab country.

He supported the "ThinkQuest" initiative for the Arab world and Africa. He also led mobilization of the private sector and academia to develop software tools and technologies for the Arab kids and youth using their native languages. He also sponsored a pioneering "Little Horus" project which was the first Arab/English website in the world between children around the world, effectively transcending national, regional and international distance barriers. This ambitious endeavor was highly recognized internationally and has been awarded several prizes and awards for its high impact and use by Arab youth and schools worldwide.
